Finding Me

Summer Wolf

Speak through my atmosphere of spinning wheels
Clarity among the buzzing and humming
Of too many thoughts dizzying my perception

Sound out the droning of constant experience
Breathe coolness into my hot temper
Calm my overwhelming

Take me back to that river
Where the purest secretions of living water
Trickle into a pool of my hope for peace

Where an earthen cliff covered with delicate ferns
Tells me it’s safe here
And towering ancient trees hide me in their wisdom

Where my children swing out and let go
Into crystal beauty surrounding them
Giving them clarity and courage

Where I submerge myself in the peacefulness
Of a world wet with life enough to leave my darkness
And come out, for my little ones to see, beautiful and clean.
