Cobra Lily for Kids

Kids are awesome. They do amazing things, such as make stories and art worthy of our respect. That’s why we encourage kids of all ages — but particularly of school ages — to contribute their poems, stories, and artwork for inclusion in a special section of our online journal. And yes, when we publish our print annual, we fully plan to include this work (we just wish it wasn’t so expensive to print full-color journals…sorry, the print journal will likely be black & white).

Furthermore, we would like to dedicate the full front and back covers of our print editions to the artwork of area youth. So if you’re a parent or teacher in Southwest Oregon, help us spread the word.

Cover art submissions should be at least 5 inches wide by 8 inches tall at 300 dpi (or 1500 pixels across by 2400 pixels tall). And we will likely give bonus points if the image includes an actual cobra lily. Please include a brief bio (30-60 words) to run in the journal and online. Winning entries will receive 2 copies of the print edition featuring the work.

All submissions — cover art but also prose, poetry, and art for the online edition — should be emailed to cobralilyreview (a) We strongly prefer work be emailed; however, if you must submit a hard copy, please contact us at this email for an up-to-date mailing address and remember to include  a SASE with sufficient postage if you’d like your work returned (or let us know if you don’t want it back).
