Nobody lives up that way.
You can drive up there
clear to the end of the road
where the bridge crosses
Widow Creek for the last time
but there’s nobody up there.
Look here on the map,
see where it dead ends,
there’s a gravel quarry
on the west side
and up here is where the mill used to sit.
Go up there if you like
but when the mill shut down
everybody moved out,
except the Peabody’s,
now they’re gone too.
That’ll be twelve dollars for the gas.
